Working from his studio overlooking Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, Ted Williams, an award winning illustrator, has created a focused, yet diverse body of illustration work that covers two distinctly unique genres: Aviation and Children's Illustration. However, no matter the subject, Ted's captivatingly detailed technique and his innovative style appeal to all ages. Ted's work speaks to the child in all of us. He has illustrated many items for children. His work can be seen in everything from illustrated learning aids, such as children's text books and multi-media to fully-illustrated storybooks and fanciful tales for children. Ted has been interested in aviation history since his own childhood. Also noted for his aviation subjects, he has created paintings and illustrations for a broad clientele, which includes historical illustration work for numerous corporations, museums and publishers of magazines and books, as well as private commissions. Ted primarily works in oil and in digital media, but he is also proficient with acrylic and watercolor. Most notably, his first book entitled The American Fighter Plane (Barnes and Noble Publishing) was released in 2002 and reprinted in 2005. The book traces the evolution of U.S. fighter plane development through Ted's full-color illustrations and drawings with text written by his daughter, Amy. Besides the work you see here, Printed examples of his work can be seen in the Directory of Illustration 14 through 20. Contact: Ted Williams by e-mail or call 585-554-5373 |
